| Sheila S. Tann, R.N., N.D., earned her MammaCare Specialist
pin on October 30, 1998. Sheila is the first holder of the Doctor of Nursing degree
to become a MammaCare Specialist and was then the chronic disease prevention and
treatment consultant for the Inter-Tribal Council of Michigan, Inc. , a consortium of the
federally recognized tribes of Michigan. Additionally, she coordinated the tribal
efforts of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program, in which capacity she made use
of MammaCare through educating tribal health care providers and community educators. She
has since moved to Tempe, AZ where she is an Assistant Professor in the College of Nursing
at Arizona State University. Sheila hails from Colorado and maintains an active outdoor life--kayaking, hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and camping. |
