Dollena Warren-Giguere

Dollena Warren-Giguere, R.N., of Rockforce, Quebec, Canada earned her Certificate of Proficiency in the MammaCare Method of Clinical Breast Examination on February 25, 2004. Dollena has been a MammaCare Specialist since 1994 and serves as Coordinator for an Info-Feminine, a Canadian women's health organization. Dollena will train nurses to perform proficient CBE pursuant to a Quebec law allowing nurses to conduct such examinations.

During the 10 years Dollena has been a specialist, her work on early detection of breast cancer has earned her a number of awards and medals including the 50-year Jubilee Medal from the Queen. She is married and has three children and four grandsons.

1992
The Commemorative Medal for the 125th anniversary of the Confederation of Canada (1867-1992) was conferred by the Governor General of Canada, The Honourable Ramon Hnatyschyn, on Dollena Warren Gigučre , R.N. in recognition of her significant contribution to compatriots, community and Canada (the largest medal in size with a ribbon red and white stripes edged in blue).

May 12, 2000
The Eastern Townships Order of Nurses, president Daniel Lussier, conferred on Dollena Warren Gigučre the award of Insigne Honorifique (Badge of Honour). Mrs Gigučre merited this award as a pioneer and woman of action in nursing for the year 2000 (smallest pin in gold shaped like the Red Cross).

November 2002
The Lieutenant Governor of Quebec, The Honourable Lise Thibault, conferred on Mrs Dollena Warren Gigučre, R.N. the Queen's Golden Jubilee Medal. This medal was awarded to Mrs Gigučre in recognition of her considerable contribution to Canada, the Community and her fellow citizens (the smaller medal with a ribbon red white and blue).

May 2003
The Quebec Order of Nurses conferred on Mrs Dollena Warren Gigučre, R.N. the Florence Medal in recognition of her many years of health promotion and ther contribution to the advancement of the nursing profession in Quebec. This medal is in honour of Florence Nightingale who established the first structured nursing training. This award was given in Quebec for the first time in 2003 ( a gold tulip shaped pin with spikes representing the flame of Florence Nightingale's lamp).
