| Shirley McKenzie, R.N., B.S.N., O.C.N., retired in December, 2001, as the manager of the Comprehensive Breast Program at Alta Bates Summit Medical Center in Berkeley, CA. She has served as project director for various grants related to cancer services and is a founder of the Breast Health Access for Women with Disabilities Program. In 1993 she received her MammaCare certification, and in 2003 she received her certificate of proficiency in the MammaCare Method of Clinical Breast Examination. She received the Oncology Nursing Society Award for Excellence in Breast Cancer Education in 1999. Currently, she continues to serve as a member of the faculty for the California Clinical Breast Examination Proficiency and Risk Management courses. Shirley and Paul moved to Dayton, Nevada, in November 2001 and live in an airpark where they are enjoying traveling without as many deadlines. |
