The MammaCare Method is the recognized standard for performing and teaching manual breast examination. MammaCare certification assures that the professional has met MammaCare's rigorous standards for proficient, skill-based breast examination. The courses are offered to nurses, physicians, radiologic technicians and health educators.  

The thoroughness and quality of the clinical breast examination is measured on surrogate patients using the MammaCare Proficiency Evaluation Lamp. Proficiency also is achieved and measured using tactually accurate MammaCare breast models. Certification is earned by demonstrating clinical skills that meet published standards of sensitivity and specificity.  

MammaCare offers three certification courses: Certified MammaCare Specialist Training Program, Certified Clinical Breast Examiner Training Course and Certified BSE Instructor Course. Certifications are valid for three years[*].
